We're kicking off the New Year with a focus on how we can help you clean up, clear out and build a better and more sustainable 2021.
Whether that means you're looking for a systematic reset, we've got you covered with 1-Day Juice Cleanses and Food Resets from our friends at the Habit Project
Or if it means that you're looking to reduce the environmental impact of your homewares, you can find great renewable options from Nature Bee, Sapidilla and ULAT.
Or maybe it's more personal, and you're looking for something to help you feel better on a day to day basis. For that, we've added supplements like Collagen, Iron and Magnesium from great BC-based wellness brands to give you a locally created boost to your day.
No matter the direction you are looking to start the year, check out our Home, Health and Wellness Collection for some ideas on how we can help!
We're constantly inspired by the people we worked with and wanted to share some of their perspectives on wellness, making simple but effective changes around the home, and some of the products they love to make and use!
Sisters Danielle and Mariah came together in 2016 to create The Habit Project to share the nourishment from their cold-pressed juices. We asked them a few questions about their products and their outlook for 2021.
Is there anything people should consider while prepping for a 1 Day Cleanse or Reset?
We recommend being intentional about your cleanse. There is no right or wrong way to do it but here are a few suggestions:
- Take some time to write down how you feel before/after the cleanse.
- Drink a bit more water leading up to the cleanse.
- Focus on adding in whole, unprocessed foods as much as possible.
It is important to remember that it is YOUR cleanse. You decide how you want to do it and how you want to feel. If you are hungry, please eat! Grab a handful of nuts, have a smoothie... the point of a cleanse is to ADD in nutrients in order to re-set the body. Listen and be kind to your body.
How do you like to reset in the New Year?
We believe in a balanced approach to wellness - mind, body, spirit. Although we love the clean slate of a new year, we feel free to start fresh any day of the year. We are passionate about creating healthy habits that will stick, habits that are simple and can build upon each other in order to hold you up through the ups and downs of life. So this month we are getting back to the basics and focusing on the things that we know make us feel well - drinking a little more water, starting up our gratitude practice, finding moments to practice mindfulness, getting in some extra green juices and vegetables, adding in some movement (stretching, yoga, running, etc.), reading and quality time with our families. The wellness world can be big and scary and although there is a place for vitamins, cold plunges, cleanses and more, we like to focus our energy on simpler things. Almost half of our days are guided by habits that we don't spend much time consciously thinking about. If we can make tiny tweaks, small shifts and positive changes in the right direction, our lives will be forever changed.
While we're not out of the woods, 2021 has a sense of optimism about it. Do you have any goals for this year?
We're dreamers, so we always have big goals but, I think that 2020 taught us some very special lessons that we will forever hold true to our hearts. We learned the art of slowing down, of spending our time at home on the farm with our kids and playing outside, making home-cooked meals and snuggling up for a movie. And although much of this year was very difficult, we found a lot of special moments that we will treasure. So even though we have some big goals planned both personally and professionally, we will make it a priority to continue to look for the magical moments in the simple things in life with our family and friends.

Nature Bee was founded in 2018 by Vancouver Island local Katie Gamble. Started as a final project while earning her Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Victoria, it quickly turned into something much more. Katie was overwhelmed by the year-over-year production of wasteful single-use plastics and wanted to take a stand.
What are Natures Bee's Wraps?
Made from 100% cotton, Vancouver Island sourced beeswax, pine tree resin, and jojoba oil, each wrap is handcrafted, folded and packaged right here on the island. We are making durable, convenient and fun wraps that will bring colour to your kitchen and help reduce single-use plastic waste from entering landfills and oceans.

Nuez Acres was founded by Anthony & Nancy Wingham. They specialize in using fair trade Pecan oil as the natural base for their chemical and preservative-free serums, scrubs and cooking oils.
How do you incorporate your products into your wellness regimen?
We use our Culinary Pecan Oil in our daily cooking to promote healthy digestion and heart health. And we use our Repair Serum daily to repair our skin that has been damaged from all the Sanitizing and PPE.
How do you like to reset in the New Year?
We open a brand new astrological calendar to reset the year and dispose of the old one.
While we're not out of the woods, 2021 has a sense of optimism about it. Do you have any goals for this year?
We plan to have our Mexico operations up and running, and Canadian operations offered in more local stores. We are looking at launching our Pecan flour sometime this year, as well.
K'pure Naturals kind of happened by accident when founder Karen Hoekstra started researching and creating natural deodorant recipes to minimize the number of harmful ingredients she and her young children were exposed to. Four years later and each product is still hand-made, cruelty-free, with the strictest attention to quality control and detail.
How do you incorporate your products into your wellness regimen?
I think our Dry Clean hand cleanser will continue to be a staple in 2021 and I like to alternate between Settle Down and Keep Going sprays, depending on my mood!
How do you like to reset in the New Year?
I always feel a renewed sense of motivation to get productive in January after slowing down the last week of the year. I start the year without making resolutions, but always writing my goals and intentions for the year.
While we're not out of the woods, 2021 has a sense of optimism about it. Do you have any goals for this year?
I'm really looking forward to 2021! I think focusing on health and wellness will be super important. I personally have goals to expand my usual fitness routines by practicing yoga along with running and cross-training.
