I like to cook seasonally and based on what catches my eye so I shop for produce and proteins a few times a week. However, there are a handful of items that I always have stocked in my fridge and cupboards. By having these foundational items at the ready, I know when I come home with some great local produce or meat I can build a wide variety of dishes to cater to my whims in the kitchen. Plus, I always have local sourdough, eggs, and cheese on hand for those days when I just want the easy comfort of some delicious, cheesy scrambled eggs and toast. And I can't forget about coffee - I don't function without it.
